The Ancient Wisdom of Cranes

Sandhill Cranes see a truly vast portion of North America, affecting many environments and communities. Sandhill Cranes don’t just affect avid bird watchers and biologists, they also affect our youngest generations too. In this episode, we interviewed Kindergarten, Middle School, and College Students about cranes.

Ultimately, cranes are a truly essential part of the New Mexico ecosystem, and a marvel that’s eagerly awaited by inhabitants of the Rio Grande River Valley all year long, and people all around the world. The idea for this podcast was born when sandhill cranes were beginning to make their flight south, and finalized as the last birds left for the summer. Their vast environmental impact and the sheer amount of land they get to see is what continually inspires us to tell stories.
